Obituary for Elsie B. Hand

ETTMUELLER, ELSIE BERNICE, (CARTY) 93 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Owen and Ethel Lena Carty, husband Albert Ettmueller and siblings Owen, James, George, Rich, Harry, Grace Stewart, Doris Hanson, Kathleen Branca and MaryEllen Thomas. She will be greatly missed by her children Harry Ettmueller of Manor TX, Doris Hawkins of EHT and Loretta Garth(Rob Haines) of Mays Landing. Siblings Robert Carty, Sr. of Atlantic City and Eleanor Murray (Rich) of Mays Landing. Grandchildren Tyson and Stephen Ettmueller of Manor TX, Christina Hawkins (Deb) of Lindenwold, Amanda Garth of Clarksburg WV, Caitlin Garth, Brittany Johnson, Bryaunna Hollingshead and Devin Haines of Mays Landing. Great-grandchildren Nicholas Ettmueller of Manor TX, Hayden Garth, Liliyana Lopez, Jaliyana Lopez and Anthony Lopez of Mays Landing. Many nieces and nephews and her loving caregiver Dawn Slunt-Bethea (Zack) and her children Analiese Slunt and Morgan Slunt also of Mays Landing who lovingly knew her as grandmom. She was born and raised in Pleasantville and moved to the Farmington section of Egg Harbor Township in 1959. She was a member of the Eastern Star and helped form the Farmington Fire Company’s Ladies Auxiliary and Ambulance Squad for several years. She also was part of the Red Hat Society. Bernice and her husband owned a small store on the corner of their property in Farmington. She also worked at Marco’s Children Shop in Pleasantville for several years and then later worked for Spencer Gifts in their warehouse on Delilah Road. In her last 8 years she lived with her daughter Loretta and her family. She enjoyed her great grandchildren coming into her room and coloring with her, playing school, playing war, baby dolls and singing songs. In lieu of flowers the family requests to make a donation to Dementia/Alzheimer’s research or Funny Farm Rescue 6908 Railroad Blvd. Mays Landing, NJ 08330.
