Obituary

On Wednesday, April 8th, 2020, Elizabeth “Betty” Dever, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 86.
Betty was born on June 3rd, 1933 in Philadelphia to Charles and Ivy Hierdahl. On September 11th, 1954 she married John “Jack” Dever Sr.. They raised two children, Jack and Susan. When her children were young, the family moved to the Jersey Shore. Betty loved going to the beach and boardwalk, her favorite spot being in Ocean City, New Jersey.
Betty loved to travel - she had the joy of visiting many different state parks and different countries, and she loved taking vacations with her family. She loved dogs and horses - but not cats!
Betty loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always at concerts or plays and games when she was able. Though her health did not permit her to attend as many events as she wanted in her later years, she was always a huge supporter of the passions of her loved ones.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Dever Sr. She is survived by her children, Jack, and Susan, and Susan’s husband Michael. She is also survived by Jack’s daughter Chelsea and her husband Joe; Jack’s daughter Bryna and her children Logan and Kayla. She is survived by Susan and Michael’s children Michael and Katherine, and her partner Andrew.
A private celebration of life will take place after COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. Arrangements are being handled by Adams Perfect Funeral Home in Northfield, NJ. Betty’s family would like to thank everyone at Woodview Estates, Mays Landing, and Grace Healthcare and Hospice for the excellent care they provided Betty. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation to the charity of your choice in Betty’s name, her family would be honored.
