Obituary for Donald T St. George

Donald T. St. George, 88, of Woodbine, NJ passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Don was born October 2, 1932, to Clarence and Charlotte St. George, one of ten children. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. He was an officer of the Woodbine American Legion Post 298 and remained an active and committed member until his passing. As a long-time resident of Woodbine, Don served the community in various organizations including the Woodbine Ambulance Corps, Boy Scout Troop 77, Woodbine Port Authority, and was a Borough Councilman. He also owned two businesses; the Colorado Café and Sportsman’s Center and DeeJay’s Variety Store.
Don was also an accomplished carpenter and general craftsman. He also enjoyed various sports activities including bowling, horseshoes, skeet shooting, camping, skiing, and mountain climbing. His love for the Colorado mountains took him to the Rocky Mountains several times where he enjoyed spotting wildlife and exploring ghost towns. Of all his many activities he especially loved golfing and had his own fairway on his property.
As a lifelong learner and adventurer, Don continually researched and learned new skills such as surveying, music, public speaking, scuba diving, skydiving, real estate, gardening, and countless other areas of interest.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Joan, children Elizabeth (James), Patricia (Jeff), and Donald (Sherri), as well as 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Don will be remembered by his loving family as a selfless, caring, and respected patriarch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Holy Redeemer Hospice.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 25, 2021 at 11:00 with a visitation from 10- 11AM prior to the service at Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc. 1650 New Road Northfield, NJ 08225.
