As you rested peacefully at home with family by your side on the day your beloved husband, Jack Kratsas, was laid to rest the Good Lord called so your souls could be together in Eternity.

Dimitra was born August 30, 1931 to Joanna and George Kalis in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating East High HS in Cleveland, she married Leonard “Bud” Delaney and moved to Brigantine, NJ and had three children. She worked professionally as an Assistant for several law firms in Atlantic City, Stockton State College and the Casino Control Commission. After her husband passed in 1979, she moved to Washington, DC to work as an assistant for Congressman Bill Hughes who served on a Congressional Sub-Committee on Crime. She married her beloved husband, Jack Kratsas of 40 years and moved to Reading, PA and later settled In Absecon, NJ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Kratsas and Leonard “Bud” Delaney; brother, George Kalis; and best friend, Poppy Kalis. She is survived by her brother, Leo Kalis of Cleveland, OH; her children, Joanne, Karen and Mark (Missy) Delaney and Jackie Donati (partner, Dean Darcourt); grandchildren, John, Chelsea, and Jake Delaney, and Michael Birch, Jr; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Dimitra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was passionate about her Greek heritage, the Cleveland Browns and politics. She loved animals. She was an active member and volunteer for Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in EHT.

A special “thank you” to Angelic Hospice, Absecon Police Dept., Atlantic County Home Delivered Meal Program, and her friends at the Genie Salon.

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 at 12:00 PM with visitation prior from 11:00-12:00 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
