Obituary for Dean L Collins

Dean L. Collins, age 61 was born on May 24, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York. He was the second of three children born to Pierre and Irma Collins. He was raised and attended schools in Galloway, New Jersey. During high school, Dean was very athletic. He would go on to excel in track and field and broke many state records for the 220 relay race. Having many gifts and talents, Dean was lovingly referred to as the “Black MacGyver”. He could fix anything and was called on by many to be of service. Upon completion of high school, Dean worked for the Casino industry for several years. Being a self-willed individual who had an entrepreneurial spirit, Dean was driven and hardworking. He was also very passionate about cars. As a teenager, Dean began taking car engines apart and rebuilding them. His passion for cars caused him to be very knowledgeable and an avid collector of automobiles. Ultimately he would serve as a mechanic to many friends, family, and all those who would come to employ his services. Dean’s skill set opened many doors for him. During the past several years, he developed an interest in real estate and acquired multiple investment properties. He was currently employed by a local residential community as a Property Supervisor of maintenance and grounds. He had a close working relationship with his coworkers, who were also known to be like his second family. Dean was one who many could rely on and often would be called upon at any time. Those who knew Dean, knew him to be a no-nonsense, analytical and inquisitive person. After many conversations with his family, he was led to fully accept the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior this past summer. On November 29, 2021, Dean was called home to be with the Lord. He was predeceased by his father: Pierre Collins, and grandparents: Timothy and Ethel Harvey. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother: Irma Collins, sister: Michelle and Raynard McCline (Brother in Law), brother: Corey Collins, niece: Chelsea McCline, nephew: Micah McCline, and uncle: Eugene Waire. He also leaves a host of in-laws, family, and friends to treasure his memory.
