Carney, Claire, - 91, of Pleasantville, left this world on October 16, 2022. Claire was born in 1931 and graduated from Pleasantville High School. She then received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from William and Mary University.

Claire retired from the Pleasantville Police Department, where she served as a records retention clerk for 25 years. She loved all sports, especially tennis, which she played into her eighties, as well as cats, dogs, and wildlife. Claire loved music and sang in the choir at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, where she was the church secretary for many years. She was a Central United Methodist Church member and read her Bible and devotionals daily.

Claire is predeceased by her husband, Stan Carney, her parents, HT and Reba Rankine, and her older brother Scotty. She is survived by her daughters, Donna and Linda, and her grandson, Chris. Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 22, at Central United Methodist Church in Linwood, NJ. A viewing will be held from 9:30 - 11:00, followed by a worship service and internment at Friends of Central Cemetery. Claire was a long-time supporter of Career Opportunity Development, Inc. (CODI).
