Obituary for Caleb James Schroeder

SCHROEDER, CALEB, - 24, Hopefully you were fortunate enough to know Caleb. The Lord blessed us with him for 24 years which was way too short. Caleb loved being with and doing things with his family. He especially loved Game Nights. Caleb was very competitive but learned that it was also ok to lose sometimes and just have fun. He had a sense of humor like no one else. He could make anyone laugh and was extremely witty in his jokes. Caleb was also not only intelligent (Magna Cum Laud in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh) but was also blessed with common sense. It was hard to fool him with anything – especially April Fool’s jokes. Caleb also had a very strong work ethic and it was important to him to do well whether it was in school or at work. It didn’t matter what the problem was he would figure out the solution. He was also great at taking things apart but not so great with putting them back together. Even though he was so smart and was able to accomplish so much, many times you wouldn’t know it because he was also humble and would never brag about himself. Caleb loved dogs, especially his beloved Malu who he called Nobel (Lebron spelled backwards without the “r”). Caleb was very athletic and absolutely loved playing sports as well as watching sports. Especially his 76ers and Eagles. He was always convinced his teams were the best and only lost because of the refs. For those who were fortunate to be his friend they knew he was very loyal to them and if they did something to hurt him, he was very forgiving and forgetting. Caleb was a very genuine and honest person. What you saw was what you got. He didn’t pretend to be something he wasn’t. Even though Caleb could be very goofy in front of some people he was actually a rather shy person. He did most of his talking with his actions instead of his words.
We loved Caleb very much and he loved his family very much. Our hearts are breaking over losing him but have the hope that we will see him again one day. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 22, 2021 at the Mission Point Church 900 W New York Avenue Somers Point, NJ 08244. Interment will be held at Laurel Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers we would like you to donate to the Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (https://save.org) Arrangements by and condolences at www.adams-perfect.com
