Obituary for Benjamin E. Featherer

Benjamin Featherer 87 of Northfield passed away peacefully at the Meadowview Nursing Home where he resided for the past four years. He was born on July 29, 1931 in Camden, NJ. His first job was at age 14 at the Paulsboro Racetrack. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1952. He served 14 months in Germany, and the remaining time at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland as an Ammunition Handler. He worked at the Globe Cleaners, Captain Starns, Caesar's Casino and Resorts, all in Atlantic City. He was active in the Somers Point American Legion Post 352 and a Charter Member of the AMVETS Post 911.
He is predeceased by his mother, Helen Roche and his father, Elwood Featherer. Also preceded in death by his brother, Edward (Bud) Featherer and his sister, Lillian Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Marlene (Sal) Branca, his nieces; Joyce (Robert) Haddock, Diane (George) Fox, Pat Jones, and Kathy (Tom) Salvi and many other nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11am at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish, St. Bernadette's Church 1421 New Road, Northfield. A Visitation will be held from 10am til the time of the mass at the church. Burial will follow with military honors at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ.
