Alfred B. Sneed of Mays Landing, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from heart complications.
Alfred was born in Ellerbe, NC to Catherine Nicholson and Hurley Sneed. He attended Mineral Springs High School in North Carolina, received a Bachelor of Science from Mississippi Vocational College, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Mississippi Valley State University, and received a Master of the Arts from Kean College of New Jersey. He had a long career in education as head of the Mathematics Department at Clifford J. Scott High School in East Orange, NJ. After retiring from there, he worked as a bus operator for Academy in the New York/New Jersey area.
He is survived by his sisters Jeanette, Shirlene, and Belinda, his children Al’Velus, Alphonsous, Apryl, Jennifer and Christopher, his second former wife Janet, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Catherine and Ardie Pearl, his brother James, and first former wife Pearlene.
Alfred requested his ashes be privately scattered upon his death.
