George Michael Philippou
January 5, 1951 – September 23, 2017
George stepped out of life on this earth into the arms of his loving Savior on Saturday, September 23, 2017. He is survived by his wife and best friend Christine, his children, Michael (Bubba) and Tanya Philippou, Nicole (“my love”) and Patrick Applegate, Christopher (Toph) and Charm Merlino, John (Johnny Bobby) and Victoria Merlino, Timothy (Timmy Jimmy) and Julie Merlino and 17 grandchildren, who were his delight: Elizabeth, Brianna, Alexis, Amelia, Jack, Joshua, Sophia, John, Josephine, Cecilia, Mia, Caleb, Luke, Isabella, Grace, Samuel, Delaney.
Friends and family knew him to be a man of laughter, forever joking, and always quick to help when called upon. He was a member of Greentree Church, where he enjoyed serving and doing life with his church family.
A memorial service, celebrating George’s life, will be held at Greentree Church, 125 Schoolhouse Road, Egg Harbor Twp., on Thursday, September 28 at 11:00 am. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 am -11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greentree Church, 125 Schoolhouse Road, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ 08234.
