Sylvester  Raeford
Raeford, Sylvester (Let), 68, of Somers Point, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2017 after losing his battle with cancer at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Division, with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Mullins, SC on January 5, 1949 until he moved to New Jersey in his early 20's where he resided for the rest of his life. He was employed by Stockton State College in 1984 until he retired as a maintenance supervisor. He was an easy going, loving man. He charmed everyone he met. He loved God, life and his family. He loved watching his WWE wrestling, karate movies and recently all his judge shows. His favorite place to eat with family and friends was Denny;s in Northfield. He brought joy to everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed by all.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harrington and Jeanette Raeford, of Mullins, South Carolina; his siblings, May, Doris, Gen and Harrington Jr. He also lost his wife Veronica Raeford in 2014.

He is survived by his three children, Shelton Raeford of Cape May Court House, Disa Daughtry (David) of Plainfield and Nicole Kooker McNichols of Somers Point, NJ; four grandchildren, DhaKirah, Dekhi, Devin and Halle; siblings, Cora Reaves (Charles), Alice Evans and Wayne Raeford of SC, Donald Raeford (Linda) of Iowa and Evelyn (Susie) Green of NJ; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with great friends and a special companion, Andoria.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11am with a visitation beginning at 10am at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road in Northfield, NJ 08225. There will be no burial as his wishes were to be cremated.
