Obituary for John K Benner
John K. (Jack) Benner, 85, was born to John and Marion Benner in Pleasantville, NJ on September 21, 1932 and went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.
Upon graduation from Pleasantville High School in 1950 he immediately went to work at Boardwalk National Bank where he continued in banking for 44 years.
He was very active in the Linwood Community Church for over 60 years and served on the Board of Trustees for 33 years.
He coached Northfield’s Little League baseball teams and Babe Ruth teams as well as the girls softball teams at Birch Grove Park in the 50’s and 60’s.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Marion and John, sister Dorothy Landis, two brothers Dale Robert and David Paul.
He is survived by his wife Ruth (Gibson) of 66 years, son David (Darlene), three daughters Donna (Jim) Westcott, Janice Brady (Bill) and Eileen Benner. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren with another one due in August.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25, at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Linwood Community Church, 1838 Shore Road, Linwood, NJ 08221.
